Recognizing researchers at the beginning of their careers (age 45 and below) for their impactful and innovative contributions to cancer research, both in the region and internationally. 

 

Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for up-and-coming cancer researchers who are showing remarkable contributions to cancer research as they begin their careers – the individuals who may one day change our understanding of cancer. We’re intrigued by applications that demonstrate interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary medical and academic efforts with a commitment to collaboration. As always, innovative, impactful research with a clear connection to the Arab world is of particular interest. 

Eligibility

  • MD, PhD, or MD/PhD or equivalent degree; aged 45 and below.
  • Demonstrated impactful and innovative contributions to cancer research.
  • It is preferred that 50% of applicants' career work is dedicated to cancer research. 
  • Applicants in the regional track must be based in and affiliated with an institution in the Arab world. 
  • Applicants in the international track must be of Arab origin. 
  • Only one submission will be accepted per applicant per award cycle. 
  • Members of the Award Board are not eligible to apply during their term of service and for one year after, and previous winners may only reapply after 5 years.

The Award

  • Recognition in the King Hussein Award Ceremony in Amman, Jordan 
  • Prize of $20,000
  • Awarded to two applicants annually
