Dr. Walhan Alshaer is an Associate Researcher and Principal Investigator in Nanobiotechnology and Drug Delivery Science at the Cell Therapy Center at the University of Jordan. He earned his PhD at Université Paris-Saclay (Institut Galien) in Paris, France under the supervision of Prof. Elias Fattal, focusing on precision oncology and nucleic acid therapeutics. His research focuses on developing advanced drug-delivery systems using different types of nanocarriers to selectively target cancer, including aptamer-guided platforms and gene-silencing strategies that address resistance. He has approximately 147 publications and 5,600 citations, three patents, and 21 funded projects with roles including Principal Investigator. Dr. Alshaer has supervised and co-supervised numerous MSc and PhD students and serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals (e.g., Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, ACS Nano). His publications appear in high-impact journals such as Bioconjugate Chemistry, International Journal of Nanomedicine, Pharmaceutics, and RSC Advances. Recent honors include the Ali Manko Award for Outstanding Researcher, Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists, and ScholarGPS Top 0.5% (2024).
